Serie A | Juventus 1-0 Udinese | Danilo’s goal helps Juventus win eighth consecutive league title

Juventus extended their winning streak in Serie A to eight games, with Danilo’s last-minute strike giving the hosts a 1-0 win over Udinese and boosting their title bid.

Juve sealed the score in the 86th minute, with Federico Chiesa elegantly chesting a lob high inside the penalty area and crossing to the unmarked Danilo to score as Juventus scored in their consecutive run. No goals were conceded in the win.

The victory leaves Juve in second place on 37 points from 17 games, just four behind Napoli, who next visit Sampdoria, and one point clear of AC Milan ahead of Sunday’s home game against Roma.

A minute’s silence was observed before the match by former Juventus players Gianluca Vialli and Ernesto Castano.

Vialli died on Friday at the age of 58 after a long battle with cancer, while Castano died on Thursday at the age of 83 .

Udinese’s Wallace got his first chance of the game after 18 minutes when he headed past Juve’s right post but goalkeeper Wojcie Hrszczesny saved the ball .

A minute later, visitors keeper Marco Silvestri made a vital save for Udinese as he pushed past Daniel Rugani’s header inside the box .

Lock the score

Juventus striker Moise Kean made a clearance from outside the box after receiving a pass from Angel Di Maria in the 27th minute , but the ball went wide.

Adrien Rabiot came close to giving Juve the lead in the 61st minute with a cross from inside the box, but no one was able to deliver from anywhere near the touchline .

It was a moment of magic left for Chiesa, who set up Danilo, who happily fired to seal the score.
