International Friendlies – Canada beat Japan 2-1 in stoppage time

Players from various countries played friendly matches in preparation for the World Cup in Qatar . However, the Canadian team also played the last warm-up match with the Japanese team in Dubai before the World Cup. Originally, the two sides had the same score, but Canadian players scored in stoppage time, helping Canada beat Japan 2-1.

In the 8th minute of the first half, Yuki Soma made a lob shot from a long distance in the midfield and successfully sent the ball into the goal, scoring 1 point for the Japanese team first.

In the 20th minute, the Canadian player took a corner kick, and Vittoria pushed close to the goal. The Japanese goalkeeper didn’t notice in the chaos, and the ball was successfully scored. Canada also scored 1 point to equalize the score.

In the 59th minute of the second half, Takumi Minano dribbled the ball outside the penalty area to shoot, but unfortunately the ball was blocked by the opponent’s goalkeeper and missed the opportunity to overtake.

Until the stoppage time near the end, in the 90+4 minute, Yamane Morai tripped Laria while intercepting the ball from the left, and Canada got a penalty kick. In the 90+5 minute, Cavallini made a successful penalty shot and scored the second point for Canada.

At the end of the game, Canada ended the friendly match with a 2-1 victory over Japan. Canada’s World Cup opener in Qatar will be against Belgium on November 24, while Japan’s will be against Germany on November 23.
