Inter Milan beat Serie B side Parma 2-1 in extra time in Tuesday’s Coppa Italia round of 16 tie to come back from a goal behind and Simone Inzaghi ‘s side set out to defend them trophy.
Parma stunned the San Siro a few minutes before half-time when substitute midfielder Jurić fired a superb shot from distance into the top right corner of goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Inter won the trophy after beating Juventus 4-2 after extra time in May last year , when Inter controlled possession but it wasn’t until striker Lautaro Martinez equalized in the 88th minute. Neither Inter Milan shot on target.

The Argentine grabs a rebound from the edge of the box
Five minutes after the start of the second half of extra time , defender Francisco Acerbi gave Inter the winner with a header that Buffon blocked an earlier effort from Federico DiMarco .
Parma, going into the last 16 , saw their goalkeeper Buffon return from a long-term thigh injury in his 50th and possibly career final appearance at the San Siro, 25 years after his debut.
Inter’s home rivals AC Milan host Torino in Wednesday’s last- 16 clash , while Jose Mourinho’s Roma host Genoa on Thursday. Fiorentina played against Sampdoria earlier in the day.
