Football News – France striker Nkunku out of World Cup with knee injury

France striker Christopher Nkunku was injured in training on Tuesday and will miss the World Cup, the French Football Federation ( FFF ) said.

The RB Leipzig striker left Tuesday’s training session early with a left knee injury. A video circulating on social media showed Nkunku clashing with teammate Eduardo Camavinga.

” Unfortunately, an X-ray taken at night showed it was a sprain, ” FFF said in a statement.

The French Football Federation added that the player replacement will be announced once the medical documents sent to FIFA have been verified. France will also be without injured defender Presnell Kimpembe, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Huge blow

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randall Kolo Mouani will replace Nkunku, according to a report by RMC Sport, quoted by France’s national team.

It was a huge blow to France’s bid to retain the crown, with Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante also missing the final through injury.

Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante also missed the final with injuries, a huge blow to the Blues’ efforts to retain the title.

Meanwhile, France coach Didier Deschamps has his mind broken over the fitness of Raphael Varane, who is recovering from a knee injury suffered on October 22.
