Everton’s Allan completes move to UAE Pro League side Al Wahda..

UAE Pro League club Al Wahda announced on its official Twitter on Sunday that the club has signed Brazil international midfielder Allan from Everton.

According to Al Wahda’s official statement, Allan signed a short-term two-year contract with the club which will expire in the summer of 2024.

Becoming Famous in Italy

Allan, 31, holds three nationalities: Brazil, Portugal and Italy. Allan joined the Vasco da Gama youth academy at a young age and made his first-team debut in 2009. During the period, Allan has won 1 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B championship and 1 Copa do Brasil with the team.

In the summer of 2012, Allan started his European career and switched to Udinese. In the team, Allan’s performances became better and better, eventually becoming one of the best midfielders throughout the Serie A, and he was often compared with Paul Pogba. In the 2014/15 season, Allan also had the highest interception success rate among all midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues.

In the summer of 2015, Allan joined Napoli for €10million. After arriving at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, his performance did not drop but rose even further, and even started to assist non-stop, becoming one of the most talked about world-class player in Serie A. In the 2019/20 season, Allan led his team to defeat Juventus and win the Coppa Italia with his amazing defense and ball-making ability.   In the summer of 2020, Allan joined Everton for €25million, following in the footsteps of former head coach Carlo Ancelotti. Although the state of the entire Toffees team has been in the doldrums, Allan still remains as one of the key players who performed outsandingly in the team.

Falling victim again to costs reduction

However, despite this, just like its former teammates Bernard and James Rodriguez, due to their previous profligacy, Everton, which has been affected by financial problems, deliberately froze Allan to reduce expenses, hence this season he never played even once, effectively becoming a victim of the Premier League club.

Now that he has decided to leave the team, Allan has also become the third South American Everton star to move to a Middle East Club in recent years, as well as becoming the second Brazilian international star to join the UAE Pro League after Bernard.
