25-year-old guard Robinson signs 1-year contract with Warriors and is expected to fight for next season’s lineup

Defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors recently offered 25-year-old guard Jerome Robinson a one-year deal that will give him a chance to play in fall training camp and preseason, ESPN’s Adam Sheft reported . Playing for a spot on the Warriors’ roster for the 2022-2023 season.

Robinson was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 13th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was then traded to the Washington Wizards in 2020 and fired after a short season in which he averaged 4.5 points in 113 games in his two-year league career.

Last season, Robinson joined the G-League team under the Warriors affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, where he averaged 20.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 22 games, compared with his previous season’s 20.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists. The performance stood out from the lineup and caught the attention of the Warriors.

As the Warriors faced cap space issues in the offseason, they waived some members of last season’s championship roster, including 34-year-old forward and veteran Nemanja Bjelica, 29-year-old guard Gary Payton II, forward With Juan Toscano-Anderson and forward Otto Porter, the Warriors are hoping to add some underrated talent this offseason to add depth to their rotation.

With Robinson signing a one-year deal with the Warriors, he will appear in the Warriors’ fall training camp and preseason games. If he proves to the Warriors that he is an efficient and effective player, he will be in the Warriors. The Warriors took a spot on the roster for the new season and were part of the Warriors’ championship-winning lineup.
